WebIn 1532, Francisco Pizarro, a Spanish conquistador began his conquest of the Inca empire. He sent an interpreter and a friar (Vincent de Valverde) to meet with the Incan king – Atahualpa in order to claim religious right to his lands. Atahualpa wasn’t accepting of this and the Spaniards captured him and his nobles. WebAtahualpa finally defeated his brother, but the war left the Empire very weak. Soon after, the Spanish explorer Pizarro came to Cusco, the capital city of the ancient Incas, and defeated Atahualpa. Pizzaro offered to release Atahualpa from prison if his people would fill one room full of gold objects, and two rooms full of silver.
